I choose to use dithering in my patterns in order to get a smoother transition of color and a high color count so that the pattern is true to the image. I retain the tiny splashes of color that define an edge, keeps the shine on the bubble and the expression in the eyes. Because of this there is confetti and satellite stitches. It makes for a very challenging, time consuming project. However; in my opinion the cost in time and care is worth the end result and the pride I feel when I display or gift the finished piece.
